Cookie Policy
Last updated: 28 September 2026
Ready Together is a campaign from the National Emergencies Trust. It helps communities across the UK prepare together for emergencies.
This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technology on this website.
Cookies in brief
- Essential technology helps the website work safely and remembers your cookie choice.
- Optional analytics stay off unless you allow them.
- You can reject optional cookies and still use Ready Together.
- You can change your choice through Cookie Preferences in the footer.
- We do not use cookies for advertising or to identify organisations for sales follow-up.
Essential technology
Some technology is needed to provide the website and keep it secure. We use it to:
- remember your cookie choice;
- support secure sign-in if you choose to use an account;
- protect forms and sign-in from spam and misuse.
Essential technology does not depend on your analytics choice. It cannot be switched off through Cookie Preferences.
We use Clerk to support secure account access. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help protect public forms and sign-in.
You do not need an account to use the main Ready Together toolkit.
You can block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop sign-in or some forms from working.
Optional website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how people use Ready Together. It helps us improve the website.
It stays off until you choose Allow optional cookies, or turn on website analytics and save your choice.
If you allow it, Google receives information about your visit. This may include:
- pages and themes viewed;
- resources downloaded and activities used;
- the broad source of a visit, such as a search engine;
- browser and device types;
- general actions, such as saving progress or downloading a plan.
Analytics cookies use a browser identifier to help recognise visits. We do not link that identifier to your Ready Together account.
We do not send names, email addresses, plan text, logos, evaluation answers, contact messages or sign-in details to Google Analytics.
We do not use heatmaps, session recordings, advertising cookies or visitor-identification tools at launch.
We set analytics cookies to expire within 60 days. Returning to the website does not extend the expiry of an existing analytics cookie.
If a cookie expires while your analytics choice is still valid, a new cookie may be set when you use the website.
We set Google Analytics to retain user-level and event-level data for two months. This is separate from cookie expiry. Combined statistical reports may remain for longer.
Read how Google uses information from websites that use its services.
Our Privacy notice explains more about personal information and your rights.
How to choose or change your settings
When we ask for your choice, you can:
- select Allow optional cookies to turn on website analytics;
- select Reject optional cookies to leave website analytics off;
- select Choose settings to review the options and save your choice.
Allowing and rejecting optional cookies both let you continue to the website. You can read this policy and our Privacy notice before choosing.
To change your choice later, select Cookie Preferences in the footer. You can turn analytics off and save, or select Reject optional cookies.
Change your cookie preferences
Turning analytics off stops future collection through our analytics service. We also remove the analytics cookies that our website can remove.
This does not undo processing that was lawful before you changed your choice.
Your choice applies to this browser. Make your choice again if you use a different browser or device.
How long we remember your choice
We remember your choice for up to 12 months. We then ask you to choose again.
We may ask sooner if we change what optional technology does or who receives the information.
If you clear your browser storage, use private browsing or block storage, we may need to ask again sooner.
If we cannot save your choice, we apply it while this page remains open. We may ask again on another page or visit.
Other websites
Links may take you to websites run by other organisations. They have their own cookie settings and privacy information.
Your Ready Together choice does not apply to those websites.
